Project 04 — Washington, D.C.
A new build given warmth and architectural interest through layered colour, texture, and bespoke joinery.
This new build provided the basic function of the space; the new owner wanted a warm, intimate home with architectural interest. We achieved this by extending and enhancing the kitchen cabinetry, which had been at a basic, functional level.
To separate the open-plan rooms, we overlaid colour, wall treatments, a cohesive backsplash and shelving.
Colour and texture were used to create warmth and pull you into the space. The client’s personal pieces added an additional layer of depth and calm.
